Welcome. This site is dedicated to the preservation and recognition of true classics - the 1941 -1945 Chevy 1 1/2 ton and GMC 2 1/2 ton military trucks.  This site is designed to give other enthusiasts a resource for trucks, hard to find parts, technical information, specs, and a variety of promotional items to show their historic Chevy and GMC Military Vehicle (MV) pride!

I am by no means the final authority on these trucks. Most of what I know I learned by research, asking lots of questions, and mostly by doing.  In doing my research, I found there is very little on the web about these trucks and nothing promoting them in the marketplace. Now that has changed - Welcome to Vehicles of Victory!
 

Bobby Timson was nice enough to send us these pictures of the very rare Chevy turret trainers.  These were used to mount 50 cal ball turrets to train anti-aircraft gunners.

  FOR SALE - Vibratory Tumbler & Degreaser
  Just bought two used "Little Scrubber" Brand vibratory tumblers as a package.  These are used by many restoration shops and metal shops to deburr, descale, derust and/or degrease.  Your rusty, cruddy old parts are put in the chamber with media and the vibratory action (usually with a degreasing or cleaning solution) cleans the old parts better, faster and easier than you will ever do by hand.  The action is gentle though so as not to damage even delicate parts.  The two were part of a package and I only need one, so the this one is going up for quick sale as I have no room for it all.  It is available for pickup or free delivery to the Redball Show in Gilbert, PA in September.

  Specs:
  * Little Scrubber is also sold as "Mr. Deburr" and is made by C&M Topline
  *  120 Volts with 1hp electric motor
  * ~ 3 cu ft capacity
  * NEW pillow block bearings!
  * Unit is easily disassembled into 3 pieces (tub, plate & base) for ease of pick-up
  *This unit needs new motor as the base of current motor is broken
  * Unit is set to accommodate solution spray bar; you will need to make a simple spray bar and provide a small parts washer pump (Little Giant's are good ~ $50 on ebay);
  * Unit is sold as is, where is with no warranty however it looks complete and good.

  7/30/08: Just an update on prices - We were just informed that due to the record level stainless steel prices (three big increase just since January!), stainless sleeved brake components are taking a significant hike.  Aluminum, brass and copper are also going crazy as you are probably aware, so any rebuilt items with these materials are experiencing similar increases.  Generally, we have been able to absorb steel price hikes through greater volume so we have been able to hold the prices on heavy steel items like our mud flaps.  Thanks for your understanding.

  New Hydrovacs for Old Trucks!

  Problem: Original GMC CCKW Hydrovacs are 65 years old at this point and likely have dried seals and gaskets that will still require rebuilding.  The last hydrovac of any kind was actually made in 1982.  Professional rebuilding on an original GMC hydrovac is now running well over $500 and rebuild kits are pretty much non-existent anymore.

  VOV Solution:  We have been working with a DUKW company and several people with extensive experience with GMC hydrovac retrofits to offer you this package.  The hydrovac is based on a 1970's model that has been freshly rebuilt by Pace. These were recognized as as being superior to originals, but mounting was problematic.  VOV has developed a bracket specifically for these to be able to easily and securely mount them to most GMC configurations.  These package offers you:
   

• Superior stopping power as compared to the original
• More advanced design
• Professionally rebuilt (typically within the past several months)
• Extensively tested by DUKW owners and shown to be the best alternative available.
• Similar appearance to late war hydrovacs
• Can be professionally rebuilt down the road for under $100!
• VOV's bracket will bolt conveniently on the frame to place the hydrovac in original position. Cutouts for all taps.
• Bracket is extra-heavy duty for the toughest uses
• Existing hydrovac bracket is just unbolted - no need for cutting so you can always remount as original.
• There should be no points lost for judging as this is a significant safety upgrade.
• Complete package is available for under $300!

Note: Bracket is designed to fit most CCKW configurations.  It may not fit all vehicles, however. If you get the bracket and it does not fit, you can likely modify it, or as long as it is in saleable condition we will offer a full credit if returned ppd in 30 days.
